![]() Maybe I'm just talking out of my ass, but with a game that is <1 gig, and a significant chunk of PC players running systems that have 4, 6, 8 gig video cards and 16, 32, or more gigs of RAM, it would be nice if you could tell the game 'Use all of it'. I'm not a programmer, maybe it's not possible. This will bring up the Valheim Dedicated. Go to the Tools section of Steam, and type 'Valheim' in the search bar. bat file that you use to start the server then right-click > Edit. Ensure that Steam is installed on the PC that will act as a dedicated server. ![]() If not, go to the path that you use for worlds for your dedicated server. Yes, it would still have to actually send that to your screen and 'load', but I wish you could toggle some setting where you could basically tell the game "Use X amount of my PC's available resources to keep as much of the game hot and ready to go as possible", maybe based off if you have at least 5 built objects in that chunk, it would keep it near the top of the stack or something so that those areas were prioritized and kept ready to load in a lot quicker. Put them here if you’re using the default world location on your dedicated server. *Given the small footprint of this game, the amount of VRAM and RAM that a fair number of PCs have these days, I wish there was a setting in the menu where you could tell it to keep certain chunks of the map loaded or rendered or whatever even when you're not there. You can also get their ID in-game by pressing the F2 key on your keyboard. When a player joins the server, you will see two lines that will provide their ID. There are two places where you can easily find this. If I flatten out a lumpy area, that needs to become the new terrain map and the old original one that was created when the seed was created needs to just be gone and not used again. First, you must find the player ID of the player you want to admin. It loads the original terrain map, then it loads any changes you made to the terrain, then finally it loads the buildings or objects into the area. The problem is that it is adding a step in the loading process when you do enter an area and it begins to load. The operating system should be Linux (Ubuntu 16.04+), Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit), Windows Server 2012-2022. You will also need a minimum of 2 GB of free storage. That is understandable (though I wish it was something a user had more control over*). To run a dedicated server for Valheim, you will need a system with at least a quad-core processor, alongisde a minimum of 2 GB of RAM.
